Rebbson collaborate with LG to bring you the best reverse osmosis technology in all of Catalonia.
LG Chem, supplier of the full line of NanoH2O™ reverse osmosis (RO) membranes, announced that over the last two years the company has accrued the most wins for new seawater RO membrane projects with more than 100,000 cubic meters per day capacity, based upon analysis of the database in DesalData published by Global Water Intelligence.
In 2017 and 2018, LG Chem accumulated more than 700 MLD (185 MGD) worth of seawater RO membrane supply contracts from project wins in El Alamein, El Ain Sokhna, Port Said, and El Galalah in Egypt. In 2016, LG Chem signed its first mega-contract with Sohar SWRO LLC for a 250 MLD (66 MGD) seawater desalination project in Oman. The contracts were awarded in recognition of the excellent performance and quality of NanoH2O™ RO membranes.
LG Chem currently boasts a market-leading over 1,000 MLD (265 MGD) backlogs of new SWRO projects. For context, 1,000 MLD capacity amounts to the daily average freshwater supply for more than 3.3 million people (assuming a per-capita water demand of 300 liters per day) and is roughly equivalent to the daily water supply for the entire population of San Francisco.
LG Chem is making significant progress in various BWRO markets as well. LG Chem has recently been awarded two highly visible BWRO membrane replacement projects in California. The awards from the Groundwater Replenishment System in Orange County Water District and Edward C. Little Water Recycling Facility in West Basin Municipal Water District come after extensive testing at each of the facilities which have total capacities of 378.5 MLD (100 MGD) and 151.4 MLD (40 MGD), respectively.
Early this year LG Chem announced two large green field projects wins to supply BWRO membranes to the 150 MLD (40 MGD) Beash Dam groundwater treatment project and the 60 MLD (16 MGD) King Abdul Aziz International Airport wastewater treatment project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
With these recent successes, LG Water Solutions was honored with Distinction in the Water Technology Company of the Year category at GWI’s 2018 Global Water Awards. LG Chem is recognized as a leading contender in the RO membrane industry after entering into the RO business only three years ago following the acquisition of California based start-up NanoH2O, Inc. LG Chem will continue to strengthen its market leadership in seawater RO and extend its innovations into the brackish and residential RO marketplaces.
